Ticks are small arachnids (spider family) that live on the blood of mammals and birds.
Symptoms and health problems caused by ticks:
The bite can cause swelling, redness, or irritation, but most often, there are no symptoms.
Ticks can cause Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Tick paralysis.

- Their bodies consist of a head, thorax, and
abdomen and appear laterally flattened.
- They have 6 legs, highly developed.
- They use their hind legs for jumping and
propelling through hair.

Amblyomma americanum : Lone Star tick
Dermacentor variabilis : American dog tick
Ixodes cookei : Woodchuck tick or Groundhog tick
Ixodes scapularis : Black legged tick or Deer tick
